Grieving Out Loud with Reimagine Virtual Worldwide Festival

  • Anasa Yoga 4232 MacArthur Boulevard Oakland, CA, 94619 United States (map)

This is a 2-hour guided journey through grief traversing through fear, despair, and alienation to arrive back home in the holy ground of our own being using the vehicles of music and sound to carry us.

It’s time to grieve out loud and let that inform the way forward.

During this virtual two-hour journey, we will descend into the deep wells of our individual and collective grief through movement, vocalization, and ritual drumming. We will emerge from this powerful “dance” into a sound bath of crystal singing bowls and a guided meditation to allow for integration and insight. Our resulting knowledge and wisdom will be shared in small groups, after which we will reunite as a large group to honor our ancestors and beloved dead in song.

Are you ready? This is your time. Let’s go!

Your Guides on the Journey:

  • Oceana Sawyer - End of Life Doula - Facilitator

  • Gayan Gregory Long - Musician/Retreat Leader - Ritual Drummer

  • Heather Salmon - Sound Healer/Ceremonialist - Sound bath & Guided meditation

  • Melanie DeMore -Vocal Activist - Singer/Songleader

This is an inclusive event. People of all racial identities are welcome to explore their grief in whatever form it takes. Our hope is that the pain of personal loss, both conscious and unconscious, can come out of the shadows, into the light of day, and provide an opportunity to transform the legacy of injustice.
